The week was marked by protests in Charlottesville, USA, by a group of white supremacists, in which a person died after a van ran over a group of people protesting against racism.

Yesterday, 17/08/2017, Sundar Pichai condemned the events in Charlottesville saying that "Charlottesville and Barcelona (attacked this week by terrorists) show the devastating consequences of hatred and extremism."

And Google has removed a social network from the Play Store, Gab. The social network has been online since last year and has been used by people who have been banned from social networks like Twitter and Facebook for their far-right thoughts.

The reason for removing the app from the official Android store was that it violates the hate speech policy:

Content is not allowed against groups of people based on racial or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation / identity.

What do you think about Google's decision?
