Bharatpur metropolis to provide land to Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation

Ratnanagar, April 2: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has announced that it was providing land plot to the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation for developing it into a cricket pitch.

Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Renu Dahal, announced this in a news conference here today.
"Bharatpur metropolis is an area with all types of possibilities. I invite you to come to Chitwan for cricket and the Bharatpur Metropolitan City will provide whatever support it can," she said.

The Foundation was looking for land plots in various places of Province-3 for construction of cricket stadium, one of its dream projects.
Mayor Dahal said the metropolis was ready to provide the ground located at the metropolis' ward number 20 for the construction of cricket stadium. A sports stadium is under construction at this site. She was of the view that the area at the Chitrawan stadium could be expanded a piece of its land allocated for constructing a cricket stadium.

She said the metropolis is also ready to provide the required financial and material support for this purpose, adding that a letter would be sent to the Foundation after getting the proposal to provide the land plot endorsed by the metropolis' board today alone.

The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has said that it has allotted Rs 10 million for this purpose.

Nepal Defeated China, Likely To Enter Asian Cup

Nepal has defeated China one again in the ICC Asian Qualifying Series for the Women's world Cup match  played in Hong Kong.

China batted first and presented a target of 86 runs.

While chasing the target Nepal scored 88 runs in the 17.3 overs loosing 6 wickets, thus won the match with 4 wickets.

Nery Thapa scored the highest 22 runs while SR Magar made 20 and RC Belbasi 13.

With this win Nepal are with the same points with China and Hong Kong.

Thailand with 8 points has already advanced to the next round whereas Nepal's luck will only depends on the ongoing match between  Hong Kong and Thailand. Nepal has already ended it's chance of qualifying for the next round, however in case Hong Kong is defeated with Thailand, Nepal will enter the next Asian Cup Women's Cricket.

Nepal has lost their second match with Thailand again by one wicket in the ICC Women's World Cup qualifying match Asian Series played at  Wong Nai Cricket Ground Of Hong Kong today.

Nepal had given a very good target of 109 runs to Thailand but the initial Batsman from Thailand scored in a very high run rate over 7 during the first few overs.

Nepal took their 9 wickets but it was too late before they finished the match with 8 balls remaining.
Karuna Bhandari took 4 wickets for Nepal.

Chanida Sutthiruang scored the maximum run of 27 for Thailand while N Chantam scored 23 runs for the team.

Earlier Neri Thapa Contributed the highest score of 32 runs for Nepal's 108 run. She hit 1 6s and 3 4s.

Likewise Indu Barma scored 26, NK Shahi 20 and J Pandey 13.

Nepal has defeated Hong Kong with 6 runs in an exciting match played at Kowloon Cricket Ground in Hong Kong on 13th October 2016.

Nepal who chose to bat first could score only 75 losing 8 wickets while playing the whole 20 overs.
Hong Kong had a good start but couldn't make it enough in front of sharp Nepali bowler women.

Hong Kong lost it's tenth wicket before 15 balls remaining.

Earlier Nepal had beat China in the similar exciting match.

Nepal Beats Namibia By 5 Wickets

April 16, 2016:Nepal has defeated Namibia by 5 wickets in the ICC World Cricket League Championship match played at  TU Stadium in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Sharad Bheswakar and Binod Bhandary played the keyrole to register Nepal's first victory in the championship. Namibia who chose to bat first scored 195 run losing their 9 wickets in full 50 overs put Nepal in pressure until the 45th overs.

Nepal lost their openers Gyanendra Malla and Naresh Budhayer very quickly and captain Parash Khadka and Raju Rijal also were out without any significant contribution.
 
Once Bhandari and Bheswakar came, they slowly caught rhythm and held the wicket until the 45th overs with slow score sharing.Later they took agressive mode and made the victory possible before 17 balls remaining.Nepal met their target 196 in 47.1 over losing only 5 wickets. They shared 84 runs in 14.3 overs. Sharad had 4 fours in 99 balls while completing his half-century whereas Binod scored 3 sixes and one Fours in 49 balls.Likewise Parash Khadka and Gyanendra Malla scored equal 21 runs, Naresh Budhaer 16, Raju Rijal 6 and Rajesh Pulami scored 9 runs.
 

Earlier Bashant Regmi took 3 wickets, Sompal Kami 2, Skipper Khadka 1 and Sandip Lamichhane took 1 wicket.Sarel Burger scored the highest 38 runs for the team.
 
With the victory Nepal has climbed on the sixth position in the points table with 2 points.The top 4 teams will advance to the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018.

There was a huge crowd of Nepalese fans in the TU stadium estimated to be 25 thousands.With enormous supports from the home ground and supporters, Nepalese players have kept the hope alive to accomodate at the top 4.

Nepal Lost By 4 Runs Against Scots In World League Championship

Nepal has lost it's first match by 4 runs against Scotland in the World Cricket League Championship match played at Cambusdoon New Ground, Ayr, Scotland.
Nepal had chosen to field first wining the toss. The match was delayed due to the rain and was cut short to 36 overs. Nepal were offered a high target of 236.Scotland scored 235 in 36 overs losing their 7 wickets.
Nepal in answer could make only 232 runs in 36 overs losing it's 5 wickets and lost the match by 4 runs.
AK Mandal scored the highest 97 runs in 90 balls with 8 fours and 1 six whereas Captain Paras Khadka scored 77 runs in 57 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Sompal Kami came in the last over and scored 11 runs in only 3 balls.

Nepal Lost To Hong Kong | World Cup Dream Periled

Nepal has lost the T20 world qualifier cricket match today by 5 wickets with Hong Kong at the Civil Service Club in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Losing the toss Nepal were to bat first and could only prepare an average target of 110 runs which Hong Kong completed losing 5 wickets before 5 balls remaining.
Earlier Nepal lost Parash Khadka (One), Gyanndra Malla (duck), Subash Khakural (two), Sagar Pun (eleven) and Regmi (eleven) but Sharad Bheswakar  and Pulami were able to raise the hope scoring 27 and 25 runs respectively. Nepal had made 109 runs in 20 overs losing all wickets.
Nepal now have to win both two remaing matches to be qualified for the T20 World Cup.

Finance Minister Presents Budget Of 819 Billion

Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat has presented the budget of Rs 819 billion for the fiscal year 2072-2073 BS at the parliament.
Earlier today the cabinet meeting has endorsed the budget. The government has allocated Rs 42.45 billion for electric power generation.
Similarly Rs 12 billion has been allocated for construction of power transmission line and 5 billion for alternate energy promotion.
Another major sector is the agriculture where Rs 26.2 billion has been allocated.

Highlights of budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016.

Reconstruction on priority
50,000 youths will be trained for reconstruction and thousands of government staff will be trained for disaster management
Government will organize an Investment Conference in the next fiscal year to promote foreign investment
National Planning Commission has estimated that reconstruction will need about 667 billion
Roads and Infrastructures
There will be 10 new cities developed in Terai region with 6 lane road connecting to market places
Total of Rs 1.95 billion has bee allocated for mid-hill Highway where Rs 440 million will be spent to develop midhill city
Village Development Committee
Each VDC will get additional 5 lakhs rs on regular budget and smaller VDCs will be encouraged to merge with other suitable VDCs, in return
they will be provided with more budget
New Constitution, Peace Process And The Local Poll
Government has worked towards promulgating new constitution and budgets have been allocated for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
and Commission On Disappeared and also for local election

Tourism

Rs 1.01 billion has been allocated for tourism promotion and Rs 5.75 billion for upgrading of airports
Buy New aircraft for NA Corporation
Hydropower
Upper Tamakoshi will be completed in 2 years which has 2 billion rs budget
Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project has Rs 3.37 billion budget
Tanahun Hydropower and West Seti Hydropower Project will commence this year
Budget For Parliament Members
Each parliament member will get Rs 2 million Rs for the development of their respective constituency area. Likewise each constituency will get
15 million for development purpose

Cricket Grounds in Kirtipur and Pulchowk and stadium in Mulpani
Upgrading of Dashrath National Stadium and the football ground at ANFA technical Centre
National players will be insured and honoured

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadab today has unveiled the government's annual policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2015-2016 at the meeting of parliament.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala have handed over the government's policy and programmes to president Yadab when he arrived at CA building at New Baneshwar Kathmandu.
The parliament meeting has concluded for today after president had presented the annual policy and programmes.
Below are the highlights of government's programmes and policy:
 
To increase the effectiveness of the Commission Of Investigation of Abuse OF Authority (CIAA)
To increase the capacity  and  effectiveness of anti-money laundering body
To hold local election within the fiscal year 2015-2016
To explore the area of revenue collection
To computerize all the national account system
To adopt zero tolerance towards corruption
To provide loan to all earthquake victims for reconstruction of damaged properties
To make the expenditure and auditing system more effective and credible
To direct Melamchi Drinking water project for timely completion
To establish public hospitals with at least 15 beds at all municipalities
To  facilitate  Seismological Centers with better equipment
To start construction of Kathmandu Terai fast track road
To expand some of the highways to four and six lanes and complete already ongoing road construction projects, to connect Humla and Dolpa district headquarters with roads
To initiate the reconstruction of all national heritage and official buildings with priority
To complete already started hydropower projects and explore new areas
To construct cricket stadium at various designated locations
To work towards reducing load-shedding time not exceeding 8 hrs a day
To launch various projects targeted to marginalized people and unemployed youths

Nepal Reclaims ICC World Cricket League Division 3 Championship

In a fascinating final match between Nepal and Uganda, Nepal has won the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 Championship Trophy defeating Uganda by 62 runs. Both finalist Nepal and Uganda has already advanced to Division 2.
Nepal was elected to bat first wining the toss. Nepal had established a satisfactory target of 224 runs playing 49.5 over when it lost all the wickets. Vice-captain Gyanendra Malla and  Naresh Balayar had scored important 56 and 51 runs respectively.
nepal cricket team after wining icc division 3 championshipWhile chasing the target Uganda were all out in 44.1 overs just scoring 161 runs.Bhuwan Karki, Shakti Gauchan, Bashanta Regmi, Sagar Pun and Sompal Kami had claimed 4, 2, 2, 1, 1 wickets respectively for Nepal. Despite the loss Mukasa from Uganda Team has become man of the match.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has called and congratulated Nepali Team after wining the match.
Nepal was already placed in Division 2 after wining the Division 3 Championship but was relegated to Division 3 again when it lost all the matches during ICC World Cup Qualifiers.
Nepal will participate in Division 2 Tournament in Namibia from January 17-24 , 2015.

Dragon Air's Flight Leaves Nepal's Asian Games Uncertain

Due to the problem in Dragon Air's scheduled flights, Nepal's participation in 4 of Asian games have been uncertain.Dragon Air has cancelled it's flight for last 2 days.Dragon Air didn't have flight on last Wednesday and they cancelled the flight also on Thursday due to hydraulic problem on the plane.It has put Nepal's cricket, athletics, table tennis and wrestling in uncertainty.
nepal at south asian games korea 2014According to Uttam Karmacharya , acting general secretary of Nepal Cricket Council, they have managed to send Nepalese players in 2 different flights of different airlines.As he said Shakti Gauchan and Sharad Bheshwakar will be flying to Korea via Malaysia whereas other 14 players will fly to Korea via Bankok.Players will arrive Inchon tomorrow at 7 am local time leaving only 6 hrs resting time before Nepal will have first match with Kuwait at 2 pm local time.
On the other hand flight of athletics players are still uncertain as they will have match on Saturday.According to Sushil Narsingh Rana, the athletics coach, there has been arrangement for players of other games by Nepal Airlines but not the athletics players Athletics has 9 players and 3 officials whereas Table Tennis and Wrestling has 9 and 3 respectively.
The seventeenth edition of Asian Games at Incheon South Korea has started on 19 September, 2014  and will end on 4 October, 2014.

Nepal has won the ACC U-16 Premier League Championship Trophy taking the host nation Malaysia by 32 run.Nepal remained unbeaten in all the games it played.With this Nepal has won all the age group Championships of U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19.
Nepal was invited to bat first losing the toss and established the score of 161 in all 40 over losing their 9 wickets.Pawan Sarraf had contributed the maximum run of 44 whereas Malaysia scored only 129 runs losing their all wickets in 36.2 overs.
Pawan Sarraf has become man of the match whereas the youngest player and spinner from Nepal team, Anil Kharel won the most promising player.Kharel has taken down 13 wickets including 6 wickets in a single match against Oman.Another spinner Jitendra Singh Thakuri became best bowler of the tournament who has taken total 15 wickets.
After the victory, Nepali senior team coach Pubudu Dassanayake has admired the winning team saying" “It is wonderful to see Nepal win the U-16 title. It highlights Nepal’s talent pool, considering that they had very limited time to prepare for the event.”
On the other hand senior National Team Skipper Parash Khadka has praised the team and also shown the necessity of our future planning for cricket in Nepal. “Looking at the way how they prepared for the tournament, they deserve a huge respect This could signal the rise of a new generation in Nepali cricket. This gives us a message that we need to build a strong domestic platform to shape Nepali cricket in a perfect way,” Khadka has said.
