Prime Minister Koirala has attended Tamu Lhosar program at Tundikhel Kathmandu on Tuesday. In the program PM Koirala has expressed solidarity with Tamus in conserving and promoting their culture. President Ram Baran Yadab has also extended his greetings on the occasion. The government had announced the Lhosar as public holiday.
In the occasion Gurung communities had organized various marches showcasing their cultural including Jhakis, Ghatus etc and gathered at Tundikhel and celebrated the festival expressing greetings each other.The Gurung community has celebrated Lhosar through out Nepal and also around the world among Gurung community.
Tamu Lhosar is celebrated every year on the 15th Paush marking the Tamu New Year. This year they have welcomed the year of Sheep. They have 12 different animals representing the cycle of 12 years in their calendar.
