Govt to launch publicity campaign to boost tourism in Nepal: Minister Adhikari

Kathmandu, The government has planned to launch publicity campaign to bring in a large number of tourists from neighboring countries-China and India.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari, in an interaction with media persons at the Ministry Thursday, shared that the Ministry was planning to launch websites in various languages targeting the foreign tourists.

He further informed that the government was planning to bring in 1.5 million foreign tourists by 2020. He further opined for making effective tourism marketing across the globe as Nepal had immense potential for tourism.



The Minister stressed on expediting the construction works of Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara Regional International Airport.
He also committed to forwarding the construction works of Nijgadh International Airport.

According to the statistics of Nepal Tourism Board, 115,000 Chinese tourists had come to Nepal via airlines while 160,000 Indian tourists in 2017.
