After the heavy rainfall, landslides at different villages of Kaski district has killed at least 25 people and injured dozens. Fifteen people are still missing.
18 Killed In Lumle
Eighteen have been confirmed dead in Lumle VDC while five in Bhadaure Tamagi and 2 in Dhikurepokhari VDC have been reported dead. Fourteen homes at Majhaghar village of Lumle ward no 4 and 6 have been washed away last night following heavy rain.
Landslide has destroyed the home of Karki Congress regional president Aita Bahadur Gurung here a tenant Rai family members have been killed. According to police 3 deceased have been identified as Tsering Rai-56, his 48 years wife and his 8 years son Arjun Rai while his daughter is still missing. Tesring was confirmed dead after he was rescued from the landslide.
Five bodies have been recovered at the destroyed home of Bashant BK-84 where is family member is still missing. BK's granddaughter was survived as she had gone to uncle's home whereas his son is working in Saudi Arabia.Dead bodies of BK's daughter in law Chiza, granddaughter Samjhana-14, another granddaughter Salina-12 and 9 years grandson Sumil have been recovered. BK's 81 years wife is still missing.
At lumle, 3 members of a GC family have been killed identified as Sunkumari GC, her daughter Sugam GC-10 and Sangam GC-5.Manju Sunar and her 4 month old daughter from Vimad village are also killed while they came to visit their maternal home.Similarly Ratna Paudel and Padme Devkota have been also killed in Lumle.
